Lido Pizzo / Punta della Suina

Actually this is the second post dedicated to Punta della Suina, but there is a good reason for this. We did explore it better, and we can tell now without doubts that it is a real paradise on earth.

This time, having arrived to Punta della Suina, we haven’t stopped soon at the first beach, but we went to the left, hoping to find less people (it was august). Walking along the seashore, we were stupefied by the beauty of the sea somewhere between Punta della Suina and Lido Pizzo. The sea water was so turquoise that we couldn’t believe our eye that it was real…

As we understood later, it is better to go to Punta della Suina when it is Scirocco, the wind from Africa (locals always know where the wind comes from 🙂 ). When it is Tramontana (the wind from north), usually all the beaches in Salento are very clean with crystal clear water and no sea grass, instead when it is Scirocco, you can sometimes find algae in the sea, though always few and just near the seashore. When it comes to Punta della Suina and Lido Pizzo, it is totally different, if you come here when it is Scirocco, you won’t find a better beach in the world. Just look at the photos and be a judge 😉

В действительности, это уже второй пост, посвященный пляжу Punta della Suina, но для этого есть веские основания 😉 Мы лучше исследовали этот замечательный пляж, и теперь мы можем сказать без сомнений, что это настоящий рай на земле.

На этот раз, приехав в Punta della Suina, мы не остановились сразу на первом пляже, но мы пошли влево от него, надеясь найти меньше людей (это был август). Прогуливаясь по берегу моря, мы были поражены красотой моря где-то между Пунта делла Суина и Lido Pizzo. Казалось, мы попали на Мальдивы, морская вода была такая голубая, что не верилось глазам, что это реальность…

Как мы поняли позже, ехать на пляж Punta della Suina стоит когда дует южный ветер Scirocco, ветер из Африки (местные жители всегда знают, откуда дует ветер 🙂 ). Во время ветра Tramontana (ветер с севера), как правило, все пляжи в Саленто очень чистые с кристально чистой водой и без морской травы, а когда приходит Scirocco, иногда можно обнаружить водоросли в море, хоть и немного, и только возле берега. Относительно пляжной зоны от Punta della Suina до Лидо Пиццо, то тут все с точностью наоборот: если вы пришли сюда в день когда дует ветер Scirocco, вы не найдете лучшего пляжа в мире.
