Actually this is the second post dedicated to Punta della Suina, but there is a good reason for this. We did explore it better, and we can tell now without doubts that it is a real paradise on earth.

Polignano a Mare / Полиньяно а Маре

Polignano a Mare is situated out of Salento, but still in Apulia, and it is too beautiful and enchanting to not be mentioned in here 🙂 Located near Bari, it is one of the favorite holiday destinations not only for Apulians, but also for the tourists from the whole world. Actually, this is one of the few places in Apulia with the strong presence of Russian speaking tourists, the other two are Porto Cesareo and Bari, to my knowledge.

Well, the most impressing thing about Polignano is the beautiful panoramas. Being like a platform of rocky cliffs, this fascinating town has so-called scenic terraces, high above the sea level. They are like balconies overlooking the Adriatic sea all along the coast of Polignano a Mare, full of marvelous colorful sea caves.

Speaking of Lecce as of candidate city for being the European capital of Culture 2019, I occasionally came upon this video of Lecce taken by the camera attached to a radio controlled multi-rotor drone, an idea of Roberto Leone, who made the video and montage. Thanks to this video it is possible to see the main monuments and churches in all the details, from up to down. The video shows Lecce as you have never seen before!!!

Video of Roca Vecchia near Grotta della Poesia / Видео Рока Веккья и Гротта делла Поэзия

Here is a beautiful video by Carlo Ricchiuto of Roca Vecchia near Grotta della Poesia. Roca Vecchia is situated between San Foca and Torre dell’Orso near Melendugno, with the sixteen-century watchtower and Grotta della Poesia (a cavity carved by the sea over the centuries) it is very popular with tourists and locals.

Galatina and Castle of Corigliano / Галатина и замок в Корильяно д’Отранто

Corigliano d’Otranto is mostly known for its Castello de’ Monti, which is an amazing example of medieval military and feudal architecture, the castle was totally renovated and expanded between 1514 and 1519 by Giovan Battista de’ Monti in order to correspond to war situation and military arts of that times. It is entirely surrounded by the moat and has a square form with round towers on each of 4 corners. The facade and the entrance were subsequently embellished in baroque style by the duke Francesco Trane, who became the new owner of the castle in the middle of 1600. Nowadays this castle is possible not only to visit, but also to dine and have a drink on the top of it in the evening, enjoying the beautiful view and the unreal magic atmosphere of this fascinating place full of history, culture and art, where you can easily imagine how was the life of knights and dames centuries ago. I encourage everybody to have such a wonderful experience.

Lido Pineta – the perfect beach for parents and children / идеальный пляж для родителей и детей

Lido Pineta is the sandy beach of Marina di Ugento, which includes free beach and equipped beach, the bar and picnic tables. It is perfect for families with children because it has the bar-restaurant and picnic tables in the shadow of the pine forest (pineta means pinewood in English), which is perfect especially when you want to spend the whole day near the sea and not to expose yourself and your family to the sun during the hottest hours.

Trattoria Tatanka and sea caves near Leuca / Траттория Tatanka и морские пещеры возле Леуки

Trattoria Tatanka is situated near Santa Maria di Leuca, coastal road Gallipoli-Leuca. It has a summer terrace with magnificent peaceful panorama of the sea (the part of the sea coast full of sea caves and yachts), and somehow I always feel like a heroine of the movie there:) (I don’t know why, but this is the association I have about Tatanka, and maybe that’s why I like it so much, I mean there are not so many places that make you feel like you are in the film:))

Acquapark Splash / Аквапарк Splash

Acquapark Splash is located close to Gallipoli, it is also situated just near the sea, so when you go up the water attractions you can also enjoy the beautiful sea panorama… This place is really perfect to spend a day of relaxation and fun, there are lots of swimming pools (with different water level, so that even the youngest children can take a bath), so you can take sunbath, refresh yourself in the swimming pool, enjoy water attractions, do water gymnastics (aquagym) and participate in foam party… There are animators, djs, great music, bars and restaurants.
